Google - show me where I live …

Now that maps for Germany is out of the door one wants to take a look at the rooftops of their neighbours. So did I and found some … lets say interesting things.
Google (or better their geocoding-unit) maps the house I live in 500 meters from where it really is located (1 in the screenshot).
You may say: ” well this is somewhere in the middle of nowhere and do 500m count ?” I would say YES! If my car-navigation would miss targets by 500m I would rather use an old fashioned map, than to go nuts with a womans voice telling me ” you reached your destination” with the destination still out of sight.
But it gets worse if we take a look at the following (2 in the screenshot). This is where our hospital HAS BEEN till a couple of years ago. But you still find it in Google Maps, not just on the map but also as a full listing with address and phone-number. Imagine you use maps in an emergency … you might be surprised.
Don’t get me wrong. Google has done a hell of a job to get maps out of the door but as for others in the market there is still a long hard road ahead.
(1) marks the place where I really do live
(2) marks the place where our hospital has been located till some years ago
