This week I’ve been to Grenoble, France to visit the European Yahoo! search-engineering team.

yupp this has been the Kelkoo office before
Tuesday evening I took a flight from Munich, Germany to Lyon, with a cab arranged to pick me up it was some 90 KM to the hotel. That sort of reminded me of some Sherlock Holmes stories as it was all dark and it looked as time stand still for that place during the last 100 years.
But to be fair the place was nice and clean and the young student form central Asia who turned out to be the receptionist as well as the bartender and the guy in charge of the room service was all nice and we had some hours of real nice conversation, while I was having a couple of beers.
By around half past twelve PM my colleagues arrived.

Next morning after a nice breakfast we were off to the Yahoo!/Kelkoo offices to do some meetings with the engineering people.

I have to admit that I was really impressed by the professionalism of the people I met. We were having good meetings throughout the day with some very bright minded people. We incidentally ran into one of the founders of Kelkoo. Having my London colleague Abs with me /who by the way seems to know any person in the universe/ we stopped and had a little chat. Actually it’s been them chatting about the latest TV and Video gadgets on the market.
For the evening we went to dinner with a couple of guys working with us on our product. We had some beer in a bar some really great Kebab and overall some very good time & conversation.

Francois very funny guy we had lots of fun

Christophe a very very nice and decent guy

Abs during eve / there is no way not to have fun with him!
Next day we had to take off again and I took my way home to Munich.
