So how do you manage to get readers for your blog and keep them?
- Study the top 100 blogs on technorati. It’s always a good idea if you start something: take a look at the competition
- Provide excellent and unique content. That’s probably the hardest part of all, and it’s often hard to give away stuff as well. So if it hurts to publish a post cause you unveil a secret (not a secret of your employer) your on the right track
- Write about yourself – at least some and add images – its engaging for readers to know something about you
- Don’t write about yourself – this can be sooooo boaring
- Do e-mail interviews with the famous – hard to achieve but try
- Post consistently – at least once a week better more often
- Tell people about it – tag on technorati, bookmark on delicious and myweb, have the blog URL in your e-mail signature – or tell them offline
- Comment on blogs you read – the whole world is give and get
- Be controversy – if you just say all is nice and fluffy – people will keep watching tv-ads
- Forget all the above and change the world – that’s really the holy grail – don’t read top ten lists or care about them – Change something!
Guy has some great ideas too and seth of course even more.
