Blink – or why snap judgements give you a better idea of what to do …

by Frank Fuchs on December 2, 2006

I got me the Blink – The Power of Thinking Without Thinking – Book of Malcom Gladwell at the airport bookshop in Las Vegas travelling from Vegas to San Francisco two weeks ago.

I love it! Why?
Well just because it screams out things that I totally agree upon. It’s about snap judgements for example. It talks about loads of experiments that prove that often you don’t need to do huge market-research to find the answer to your questions regarding a product, a design, or an idea. It turns out that most of the times its best to listen to your subconsciousness.

If you do market research or are in a position to hire an agency to do it for you – read this book!

Hi… I just got BLINK and CAN’T PUT IT DOWN! I’m loving it. I’m fascinated by how we think, believe, and form opinion. WOW! :-)

The market research geek in me loved this book, too. Thanks for calling it out. I’d just read the book and with much enthusiasm loaned it to my neighbor who was on her way to Mexico and a few days of lounging by the pool. She was completely bored with it, since she wanted a trashy beach read — that’s when I knew, I’m still a geek!
