How do I get my Business Listed or updated on Local Search Sites?
As we are getting more and more e-mails of people asking us how to get their business listed or information changed on our Yahoo! Local Search pages in Germany and the United Kingdom.
I figured it is about time explain this on a page and gather some of my bookmarks to the pages where you can add your business to get listed on Google Maps, Ask City, Live Local etc. in the US and Europe and some other players.

Looks like Google wants to do something pretty similar to suggest as you type for mobile devices. Obviously makes sense as you do have a more or less closed database of locations and business- types and names to build the suggest “dictionary” from.

A new column at searchengineland was introduced yesterday – Locals Only – Greg Sterling wrote that
“Locals Only will appear on Mondays, covering local search, mapping, online yellow pages and other sites that help searchers pinpoint real-world merchants, service providers and other location-based entities.”

Nope this is not a couple of just fancy names I came up with, these are social demographic groups PRIZM NE segments the US population by. They do this within 66 segments, based upon where people live, along with other factors like age, household income levels, household size, etc. The two top ones for Yelp being Young Digerati and Bohemian Mix.
