I’m not going to do the - “usually I don’t participate in … bla bla” cause as you can see I’m doing it so there is no reason for denial. William Slawski tagged me and now I’m in.

The difference between reading and reading.

I don’t usually consider reading magazies as “real” reading. In my opinion you read books but browse magazines - true at least for me - and looking at the people in the next seat on a plane I’d say this holds true for quite a bunch of others as well.

So for me the question would be what magazines do you browse?

Here are the top 4 in order of the frequency I tend to get my nose in …

Novum - A German Arts and Graphics Magazine (which btw is bilingual with all the articles in english as well)
I read novum because my roots in the web are graphic design and  web-development. Even so I don’t do much photoshop these days - UED people hate if someone (sometimes thats still me) interferes with their resort of excellence - and honestly I do really really really understand that - as everybody and their aunt tends to have an opinion on design &
layout - most of the time as good, helpful and true as the message in a
fortune cookie - I still have some love for the beauty of good design.

Spiegel - Germanys number one weekly political magazine. Basically to stay on top of things re politics. It’s my number one source for news in the web as well - oh besides of yahoo.news of course…

Wired - awesome since ever and a magazine we have at work so I get to read it pretty frequently if nobody “borrows” it and takes it home - I’m not pointing fingers here Chris … ;)

Highlife Magazine - Most hated prize goes to this one - but availability and exclusivity is one key to audience - so I did feel doomed to read it on way too many flights. I’m talking about the wonderful invention that airlines do offer you right nex to the barf bag - this should be said enough …

I’m tagging Pascal Fantou, Kathrin Schwan and Carlo Zottmann
