Really awesome presentation of Merlin Mann – 43folders.com. He compiled a series of articles he wrote on his website into a presentation titled “Inbox Zero”.
He emphasizes on the fact that people spend way too much time handling their e-mail, while applying some simple rules of common sense can help to dramatically reduce the mail limbo.
What I took as a learning – besides of the stuff I knew and did before – is the following.
- Just have ONE archive folder – in the days of (smart) search engines a hierarchy of folders to organize information is wrong
- Keep the ball rolling – if you can’t answer an e-mail ask a question
The video is almost 60 minutes long, but the presentation ends at ~33 minutes and the 33 minutes are very well spent if you decide to watch it.
