Google using expandable Map with Yahoo! Maps listings - confused

I did a search for Needham, MA 02494 on Google and got the onebox result with a Google map right on top.

yahoomaps

Just below that happened to be a Yahoo! Maps result with the little button that allows you to expand a map in the SRP. And not as a surprise to me but maybe to quite some people – even so the title reads “Yahoo! Maps - Needham, MA 02494, United States” – the map was a Google Map.

Huh. Looks like we indexed a Yahoo search results page for maps. I’m surprised Yahoo doesn’t exclude that url in robots.txt, but I’ll pass on the report. Thanks!

      Thanks Matt,

whilst I’m not sure if this couldn’t be a legitimate result - at the end of the day its about user experience and we don’t want to mislead consumers - do we ;)

Some Google Maps Indexing Confusion …

Locally Type found this mistake in a Google result, showing a Yahoo Maps URL but with a plus box that reveals a Google Map. Here’s the result that lead to the post: Needham, MA 02494. The actual Yahoo Map is a link down on the page…….
