Yahoo! Maps - Direct Display

Since last night the Yahoo! direct display for maps is live in Germany.

The DD works as it does in the US and provides users with easy access
to the maps of Yahoo! without the need of going to a vertical first -
users will simply get the map inside core web search. With access to a larger map view and the routing functionality of Yahoo! maps.

In short this is how it works:

Trigger term is at the end or beginning of a string and this is then handed over to maps as a full query string. If the backend does not match it to a street name then there is no output to the front end.

Example: Alte Allee München

The same query at google.de returns this

maps_ddgg

And this is what you get at msn / live

maps_dd_msn

Thanks to Patrick B. and the US team to sort this out!
