Thank you very much for your help with this! I have been waiting 3 weeks to get my mac working again and I searched everywhere for a fix and couldn’t find it! I contacted apple and they told me that i just didn’t know my mac very well yet and I needed to get to know my mac!!! I have had a mac for 10 months before I know how to use a mac!!
Just yesterday my neighbor used a restore disc to try and fix my mac and it didn’t work. I don’t know why… and today I went to look for a solution today and found this! Thank goodness or I would have had to send it back to the manufacturer and wait 4 weeks to get it back.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I can do my school work again!

A couple of us are unable to reboot in safe mode. It still starts up the setup assistant. Also, when trying to reinstall it again there is no option to archive & install. Only erase and install. Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.
